Using An Accent Highlighter
If you think that having an accent highlighter is only something that you have to worry about in an office setting, you are missing out on a useful tool in your home. Not only can you find great uses for these, your kids can learn to use them at school as well, something that will help them throughout middle and high school, as well as in college. The highlighter is a simple tool you can buy anywhere, but it can help you stay organized in both your professional and personal life, and it can help you so that you never forget another important payment or appointment again.
Most are introduced to the accent highlighter in college. Unlike in high school, you buy your own books in college. This means that you can take fewer notes if you know how to make sure you can find the information that you need to study in your books. The accent highlighter is great for this. These are usually yellow, but there are a few other colors that you can use with the same ease. The text is highlighted, but you can still easily read it and though it may devalue the book in some cases, someone buying these books from you if you choose to sell may appreciate what you have done.
Some students can use an accent highlighter in middle and high school, though they should not use them in the text books that they do not own. Instead, they should learn how to take notes, and then how to highlight the important notes that they think will be what they need to learn for a test. An accent highlighter is perfect for this, and as with in a book, the notes in a notebook will be highlighted, but they will still be perfectly readable when your student goes back to study those notes.
Other than school, the accent highlighter is still useful. This is one thing that you should always have at your desk at work, and is equally important to have at home. You can highlight appointments and payment times on your calendar so that at a glance you know something is due. Without that highlight, you could forget many important things. Some families with many children use a different color for each member of the family so that people can keep track of their own activities on a calendar or other organizer.
Do not mistake normal markers for the accent highlighter. These are made in colors that can allow pen, pencil and type to show through without too much problem. Most regular markers are going to cover up or blot out what you are trying to remember or save. Even something as simple as a yellow marker is not going to work as well as a yellow accent highlighter. They are not too expensive, so buy up what you need and replace as needed. Keep them in a kitchen drawer, on your desk, and anywhere else you find them useful. They are one of the most effective, yet most inexpensive, ways to get your day and your week organized.
